Team Sports Guard Program

Designed for how athletes actually play.

Our guards fit snugly against the upper teeth so athletes don’t have to constantly bite down to keep them in place. This allows for clearer communication, more natural breathing, and the ability to hydrate during breaks without removing the guard. A better fit also reduces unnecessary clenching and muscle tension, allowing for a more relaxed jaw position and improved overall comfort.

Custom, dentist-verified guards also provide superior protection for teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks, and lips compared to generic options.

Designed to fit

Scanned in three minutes. Fits like it grew there.

No goop. No gagging. No impression kits in the mail. A digital scan of your athlete’s exact dentition becomes a guard made to fit them and only them.

Built layer by layer to match the shape of one mouth, and only one mouth. Three colors. One precision fit.

Verified

A dentist checks every single one.

Before any guard leaves our facility, it’s seated on a printed model of your athlete’s teeth and signed off by a licensed dentist. No online lab does that.

About us

A family practice. In Dripping Springs.

Drip Dental is a family-owned practice in Dripping Springs. We created this program because we’ve seen the real cost of sports-related dental injuries in young athletes, both the financial burden and the lasting emotional impact during their formative years.

Most mouthguards fall short. Boil-and-bite guards offer minimal protection and poor retention, while mail-order options remove the dentist from the process and leave no room to correct mistakes if the impression isn’t perfect. We built something better: custom guards made in our facility from a precise digital scan, with every fit checked by a licensed dentist before it reaches an athlete.

We believe every player deserves this level of protection. That’s why we bring the full process directly to your team.

Frequently asked

Good questions.

A boil-and-bite is shaped by softening a generic blank in hot water and biting down. The fit is approximate at best, and most athletes end up chewing or removing them mid-play. Our guards are 3D-printed from a precision digital scan of your athlete’s exact teeth. There’s nothing generic about the fit.

Online services mail you an impression kit, then leave you to take your own impressions at home and trust that a stranger in a lab got it right. We come to your facility, take a precise digital scan in person, print and finish the guard in our facility, and have a licensed dentist verify the fit before it goes home. No mailers, no lab in another state, no guesswork.

The Precision Guard is our proven 3D-printed guard with dentist-verified fit. The ORB Sport is that same custom guard with embedded biometric sensors that track heart rate, body movement, and head impacts during play, plus a paired mobile app for performance insights. Both are built from the same precision scan and verified on a printed model by a licensed dentist.

No. The ORB Sport provides performance and impact data for training insights only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, prevent, or treat concussions. Always follow established medical return-to-play protocols. We include clear disclaimers with every ORB Sport guard.

The guard itself is yours to keep. Full access to the ORB Sport mobile app, performance dashboards, session history, and insights requires a separate annual app membership (currently $58.99/year, billed through the App Store or Google Play). The Precision Guard has no subscription of any kind.

We either adjust it on site or rescan and reprint back at our facility, then mail the corrected guard to your team. No upcharge, no questions. The point of a custom guard is that it fits, and we own that.

Yes, for the Precision Guard. The scan captures the brackets and wires, and we design extra clearance into the guard so it doesn’t bind on orthodontic hardware. Just let us know at scanning, and it’s worth re-scanning once or twice a season as the orthodontic position shifts. The ORB Sport is not recommended for athletes in braces or bonded retainers, so we steer those athletes to the Precision Guard instead.

Yes. Our design system supports athletes with missing teeth or mixed dentition (baby teeth alongside adult teeth). We can block out space for erupting teeth so the guard fits comfortably now and doesn’t interfere with natural tooth eruption. Just let us know when booking the scan so we prepare the right workflow.

Yes. Individual athletes and small groups can schedule a scan at our office in Dripping Springs. We can often deliver the guard the same day or mail it to your home.

A 15-minute call with the AD, coach, or booster lead. We walk through scan-day logistics and pricing, and confirm a date. We handle the rest: equipment, scanning, follow-up. Ideal scan and delivery windows are limited, especially if you want your athletes wearing guards during early practice. We recommend reaching out early to secure your preferred dates.

We regularly serve teams across the Hill Country and greater Austin area. For programs farther out, we’ll quote travel honestly, and if the math doesn’t work, we’ll tell you so.
